Hana-Juku Street

Welcome to the Hana-Juku Street!

Our “Fashion Area” got an update and became the “Hana-Juku Street”. In 2026 there was not only a new name and a new design but also a new location: right in the large vendor hall, visitors found a small J-fashion paradise in the shape of a street, inspired by the Harajuku original in Japan.

Dive into a colourful (and sometimes dark) world of frills, ribbons, cute mascots and sparkling accessories. You can stroll, shop, browse and sometimes even meet the designers behind the pieces in person.

In cooperation with Melty Wish, a special Tea Party took place in the Mirror Room on Sunday, 17 May 2026, from 1:45 pm to 3:15 pm. It cost €10 on top of the convention ticket and was organised via a name list, with places limited to 25 people. The price included a tea flat rate (with milk, sugar and sweetener, and a vegan option) and a pastry of your choice. All J-fashion styles were welcome. The programme included an award for the three most lovingly styled outfits, presented by Liz from Melty Wish with sponsored prizes.

Do you remember the famous street snaps from magazines like KERA or the Gothic & Lolita Bible? Together with Sakura Fashion, HanaCon ran a J-Fashion Street Snap Contest. The prize was a My Melody sweater dress by Rojita x Sanrio, sponsored by Sakura Fashion, a limited edition that has already sold out.

Participation was digital via Instagram on both days: follow HanaCon and Sakura Fashion, take a street snap photo of yourself in J-fashion or Harajuku fashion on site, post it publicly, tag HanaCon and Sakura Fashion and use the hashtag #HanaJukuStreetSnap2026. Every J-fashion style was welcome, creatively edited entries (for example in purikura style) were allowed, AI-generated entries were not.
