- The premiere of the Gaming Room with eight indie games from the Hannover region.
- The Europe debut of the group Risky Melody.
- 37 Artist Alley stands, nine brands in Hana-Juku Street and four food trucks.
HanaCon 2026 took place on Saturday 16 May and Sunday 17 May 2026 at the CongressCentrum Wienecke XI (Hildesheimer Straße 380, 30519 Hannover). The grounds were open from 9:45 am to 10 pm on Saturday and from 9:45 am to 6 pm on Sunday. The box office was open from 9 am to 8 pm on Saturday and from 9 am to 3 pm on Sunday.
On stage were Khio, Last Lullaby, the virtual artist IA with “Re:Connect”, Junihuhn, Miracle of Revenge, Michin Impact, NILO, the live radio play “Origin of Darkness”, the Vocaloid Live Show of Vocafest UK & Ireland, triple’s and Romy with her K-Pop solo debut, among others. Maki Oyama performed on Saturday, and Risky Melody on Sunday in their Europe debut.
The Mirror Room offered a K-Pop dance workshop, K-Pop Random Dance with KDOB and a reading and signing session with the author Britta Wolters.
Twelve workshops and talks were on the programme: a talk on Chainsaw Man, 3D and anime animation, Kimono 1×1, fictional characters, storyboards, hardshell wigs, cosplay show groups, a voice-acting workshop, Level Up Your Cosplay, origami with the DJG Hannover, VRoid and “From idea to cosplay”.
The D & Sastas Cosplay Cup gave four jury awards (Best in Character, Best Sewing, Best Crafting, Best Hair & Makeup) and an audience award. There was also the speedpaint contest on both days, a drawing contest on the theme “Traditional Korea/Japan”, the karaoke contest, the K-Pop Dance Contest, “Show Us Your Bias Shrine” and the J-Fashion Street Snap.
The Gaming Room showed eight indie games from the Hannover region for the first time, together with the Hannover Game Development Meetup and the Hi-Score video game museum. The karaoke team KOE brought more than 30,000 songs. Bring & Buy accepted up to 20 items per person. There were also four food trucks, the photo booth and the photo corner, Café HanaBon and nine brands in Hana-Juku Street: Loliya, Lace de Parfait, Melty Wish, Cursed Blossom, Bunya Boutique, Sakura Fashion, Bamar, Trip in the Dream and Amai Dreams.
